Representative Nelson Dollar • N.C. House District 36
95% Lifetime Rating by the American Conservative Union
100% "Champion of the Family" Rating by the NC Values Coalition

Dear Friends,

It’s an honor to serve the citizens of the 36th District and to represent your interests by making jobs and education our State’s top priorities.  Over the last five years we have lowered taxes, simplified business regulations, and passed legislation to get our economy moving.  Our efforts have lowered unemployment and created over 300,000 new jobs
As Senior Chair of the House Appropriations Committee I have passed balanced budgets, lowered our State’s debt, insured our “AAA” bond rating, and made investments to spur economic growth.
Our most important investment has been to increase public school funding by one billion dollars including the largest teacher pay raise in a decade, an average 7%.   We are also investing in high tech worker training by funding the “Closing The Skills Gap” program in our community colleges and for the first time providing for year-round curriculum courses to get people trained and back in the job market.
We are making progress, I‘m proud to report that North Carolina's 2015 graduation rate of 85.4 percent is the highest recorded in the state's history.
In this year’s primary I have been endorsed by every Republican member of the Wake County House Delegation including Rep. Skip Stam, Rep. Marilyn Avila, Rep. Gary Pendleton and Rep. Chris Malone.  I have also been endorsed by Sheriff Donnie Harrison, current Speaker of the North Carolina House Tim Moore and former Speaker of the House and U.S. Senator Thom Tillis.  Based on my work in the General Assembly, I have a 95% lifetime rating by the American Conservative Union and a 100% “Champion of the Family” rating by the NC Values Coalition. I have also been endorsed by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
I will continue to fight for reform in Raleigh, cutting taxes, lowering the cost of government, eliminating needless regulations, defending your 2nd Amendment rights, and representing the common sense conservative values of the Republican Party. We will continue to reform and invest in our education system, insuring our students are ready to compete in the global economy as we bring more high quality jobs to our area.
With your support, I will continue to seek solutions that bring people together and move North Carolina forward.
Please know I will appreciate your vote on March 15th.

                  Very Truly Yours,
